Nd forgive herself? Mr Darcy’s Compassion is Rose Fairbanks’ latest novel about healing deep seated wounds relinuishing faulty beliefs and making a fresh start If you love romance that is built upon genuine trust and restores the soul then buy today This story may contain triggers for emotional andor sexual abuse survivor Abuse of any kind is intolerable However I struggled to read this book and now struggle to write this review I am outside the norm when it comes to rating it as well But each person's subjective opinion makes for different reviews As I write this I am trying to determine what it is that didn't sit right with me It was not because the subject matter is dark and all too real or the writing was not good Maybe it was the fact that Elizabeth just up and leaves Longbourn without a look back I just couldn't wrap my head around Elizabeth abandoning Jane in her time of need Maybe it is my own personality that would deal with the situation in a forceful manner or my understanding of Elizabeth's Then there were times I found the story a bit disjointed and a touch too modern Maybe it was the magnitude of the subject matter and there were than one or two where I felt it was too much in too short a period and too frenetic to make this story plausible to me Then again maybe I was just not in the right mindset to read this when I did So please read the other reviews to make an informed decision on whether or not this is a book for youI fear it may take years to unlearn all the broken thinking with which I was raised uote from the bookI received an ARC of this book for a fair and honest review

Mr Darcys Compassion Jane Austen Reimaginings Book 6Devastated Abandoned Will they find comfort in each other’s arms? When Mr Darcy stops for respite at a coaching inn a warm meal and bed are all that are on his mind Soon he recognizes a tavern maid as none other than the woman who captured his heart weeks ago Reeling from his own hardships Darcy makes the impulsive decision I read this as a WIP when the author was posting chapters online so I am only guessing at the dates of my first reading I did read it again when it was publishedElizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy spend most of this story in each other's company but it is by chance and the cause is very dark Lydia Kitty and Mrs Forster have eloped with officers while in Brighton None are recovered and the Bennet family sinks in shame and disgrace Jane is even depressed and attempts the worst sort of escape Mary turns to the bottle Elizabeth finds that her parents refuse to even seek help for Jane and decides to leave and seek shelter with the Gardiners BUT when they too are in denial about the need to sort things out and refuse to take Elizabeth in she finds herself without friends or family She trades room and board for work as a serving girl at an InnThus when Darcy stops at the same Inn on the way from London to Pemberley he is shocked to find a serving girl who looks like and whose laugh resemblesElizabeth Bennet He takes immediate action and finds himself at odds with Elizabeth even sporting an injury when she refuses his help But he persists I loved how despite many arguments and misunderstandings Darcy maintained his love for Elizabeth and never ceased to tell her of it When she finally seems to agree with his offer she cannot find herself deserving and again he has to take action to keep her safe and with him I loved how this played out With space at the Inn limited the couple are in the same room and he offers her the bed while he takes the settee It is only a short time before she offers him to join her in the bed and the interaction steals your heart away NO they don't anticipate their wedding vows but they do have some very tender moments Ironically Lydia comes into the picture again but in totally different circumstances than canon Jane does not have Bingley return to Netherfield and that does become one of the dividing factors in ODC's relationship I was very delighted with this variation and loved Darcy's steadfastness in holding onto Elizabeth who has had so much negative in her life He doesn't let the fact that her status as a serving girl which usually means prostitution and which gives her an even lower status than her previous level in society cause him to turn his back on her
