Review of The Irresistible Miss Peppiwell by Stacy Reid Story is good and all the characters especially Phillipa are likable She is strong passionate and adventurous which makes her a perfect female lead character in my humble opinion I also liked the fact that the book was well paced and kept me entertained until the very end I recommend it to all historical romance lovers It's a must read novelLord Anthony is looking for a bride and Miss Peppiwell is not interested in marriage But they are a perfect couple The chemistry between them is undeniable and scorching hot Anthony is Alpha at heart but he has an honourable and sensitive side too While Phillipa is cold and closed off very few know that she has an adventurous and rebellious side too Both have a dislike for society's rules They do not want to bend to society's will and want a life where they can have freedom to choose whatever way they want to live They want to be scandalousAlthough they have lived very different lives they are very similar in many ways That's the reason why Anthony is sure that Miss Peppiwell is a perfect bride for him Now the trouble is that she doesn't agree and it will not be easy to convince her Phillipa is wary of men and she doesn't want to get married to one She thinks that marriage will bind her and make it impossible to have the freedom she so craves She loves Anthony but all she wants is to be his friend and lover She is definitely not looking to wed But when she is taken by crazynasty Lord Orwell things change She saw a side of Anthony she hadn't before and it just might convince her to accept his marriage proposal after all

I received an ARC of this book free from the author and netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewOh my It’s been a while since I’ve read historical romance This one’s a real treat so thank you Miss Stacy Reid for the ARCFirst of all I’d like to say that this book has a beautiful cover Whoa look at that The girl is so lovely She’s exactly what I’ve imagined of Phillipa This book by the way comes in a very passionate tale and it’s one with a scorching hot romantic plot The story is all about two characters who developed a beyond ordinary love right after their fateful encounter in London Anthony Thornton a deliciously hot member of the ton instantly fell for the irresistible Miss Phillipa Peppiwell in a certain ball Phillipa on the other hand is an American lady who doesn’t agree with London’s social viewpoints She has a very intriguing scandalous past which made her feel hesitant to accept Anthony’s proposal to her From the very beginning the attraction and the sexual tension between these two characters are already apparent so it’s not that hard for me to connect well with these characters By all rights he should be concentrating on the stunning widow Lady Galveston who had been throwing him sultry looks since his arrival but he had to admit the slender redhead with her cold golden eyes interested him far What I love about this novel is the undeniable chemistry between Anthony and Phillipa I love their match and I knew right then that they’re perfect for each other Although they first thought that their feelings for each other is mainly a lust the way they interact and spend time together is evidently than thatI love Anthony Thornton I already consider him as one of my favorite historical book characters He’s bold enough to express his feelings and he doesn’t even hesitate to accept the fact that he’s in love He doesn’t annoy me at allPhillipa on the other hand is a bit annoying especially during the first few chapters but thankfully her character eventually improved so my annoyance with her didn’t really grow that much The scenes are unpredictable and that’s how I admire the author It’s also well written It basically paints a picture of the earlier London scene– how London society reacts to gossips scandals and anything unusual It also speaks about the importance of politics over love when it comes to choosing someone you marry Well I’m glad I wasn’t born in this era Lol ’DOne thing I noticed about this book though It reminds me of Lisa Kleypas’ novels There are a lot of similarities when it comes to the plot And I’m glad however because I love Lisa Kleypas and I want to read historical novels that are similar with her writings and plots And this one really satisfies me Also I love the dual POVs here All stories should be like this Kudos for a very beautiful story Miss Stacy ReidMy Rating for this Book 5 Stars For those of you who loves historical romance with a taste of sexy and passionate scenes and with a satisfying ending consider reading this It’s worth a readBook review originally posted on my blog

The Irresistible Miss PeppiwellAunted by Phillipa's aloof nature and her distaste for the idea of matrimony he sets out to thaw the bewitching beauty by enticing her with adventures of the most sensual type But he too hides a scandalous secret and if it's discovered it could rip them apart. First of all is this supposed to be the first or the second book in the Calydon series Because it makes sense for this one to be the first book than The Duke's Shotgun Wedding This is in a way an easy short read At first i was a bit apprehensive about the story as the girl Phillipa Peppiwell beautiful rich but cold complete with short uninteresting responses blank uninterested looks etc Okso she's trying to make herself be as unattractive as possible so that men do not want to marry her She's averse to marriage because it is entraps a woman and takes away her freedom I can accept that idea in a story; it is after all the 19th century and women are not given a lot of rights for a lot of things She's a rebel at heart and also not a simpering miss she couldn't wait to get her inheritance at 21 so that she can go globe trotting as a free single woman Anthony Thornton is Sebastian's younger brother he's tired of being a popular good looking rich bachelor and wants to settle down with the right woman and have a family Wow Mythical creature alert he sees Miss P and he wants her He pursues her but she always seems ellusive and out of reach There's a bit of a setback as he found out about his parentage But still he took his chance with the girl and laid it all out for her And then there's the typical creepy and lecherous titled lord villain lurking around ballrooms trying to get his hands on our girl So alright the characters are rather cliched the plot predictable but somehow the story is saved by the fast paced telling of the story that doesn't waste time on too many plot twists support from solid side characters and no rambling descriptions of foggy London the English countryside One thing i like about SR's stories is that it just zooms into what you need in a histo rom put together 2 likeable MCs package their love story in a compact easy to chew stories minus the pretty prose and fancy Regency dialogues and end it with a pretty ending Nice simple and just as satisfyingOn to the next book
