Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie by Dreamspinner Press in exchange for a fair and honest reviewLet me start by saying that the first thing that drew my attention to this book was the gorgeous cover the colors the image it's just breathtaking This is book 3 in the series but it can be read as a standalone which is what I did and there wasn't a moment in which I felt lostCobalt Winslow hasn't had the easiest of lives He was born to a wealthy family but he refused to live under their thumb turning his back on them when he was 21 to move to New York for good and pursue a career as a ballet dancer He became a principal danseur in the company only to have that snatched from him after his cheating boyfriend infected him with HIV and he became really sick rendering him unable to dance Nearly defeated he returned to his hometown but didn't break off things with Calvin continuing the unhealthy relationship they'd fallen into After a particular violent episode Cobalt ends things with Calvin and finally opens his eyes to see what has been there all along Preston his brother's driver who has always loved him from afar I loved Preston he was a great character strong reliable not physically perfect but with a huge heart and patient really patient While I didn't particularly care for Cobalt until almost the end of the book I liked how his relationship with Preston progressed once he let himself see how much better Preston was than Calvin that is While I wasn't happy with some of his decisions I have to admit everything worked out for the best in the end and I was very satisfied with it The book is well written fast paced and engaging I enjoyed the inclusion of the secondary characters into the story especially Azure and Chance and the chemistry between Preston and Cobalt I really liked that the author didn't uite focus on the HIV angle than she needed to to move the story along RecommendableRating 4 Stars

Like Heaven on Earth Dance Love Live #3Cobalt Winslow lost two loves when his ex boyfriend Calvin Denvers infected him with HIV taking his health and his place as principal danseur in their New York ballet company when Cobalt became too weak Now dealing with the aftermath as best he can Cobalt teaches dance in Toronto with the support of his oldest friends Conrad and P. I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked ReadsIn the third book in this series we are introduced to Cobalt and Preston two men with a complicated relationship that has developed over a lifetime With Preston working as Cobalt’s brother’s chauffeur the relationship navigates an uncomfortable class divide as well as the difficulties posed by Cobalt’s HIV and a complicated relationship with an ex boyfriend Cobalt can’t uite let go of There is slightly less dance in this third book but the character and relationship development is even complex and nuanced than it has been in the previous two books The history between Cobalt and Preston is intense with readers offered memories and flashbacks alongside the current drama I loved both these men and I loved the way the author reveals the details of their long historyWhen the story starts Cobalt is physically and mentally weak He pushes away those who love him and allows an unhealthy relationship to continue Preston is a constant steady presence for the fragile dancer strong and patient in the face of Cobalt’s self loathing Preston is my favourite bear like dominant character in uite some time and he is the perfect contrast to the delicate effeminate Cobalt I liked the way the author handled Cobalt and Calvin’s struggles with HIV There are some very difficult moments for both characters but the story feels honest and never becomes maudlin or preachyCharacters from earlier books are reintroduced in this story but the focus is on Cobalt and Preston with a growing focus on Cobalt’s brother Azure and his ex boyfriend Calvin Much of the story takes place away from the dance studio so we don’t see the series’ characters together as often as we did in the first two booksWhile I might have wanted a few descriptions of the dance in this story I think the relationship in this third book is possibly the best yet The storyline feels coherent than in either of the first two books and Cobalt and Preston are two very special men
