This book is absolutely brilliant My son told me he wanted to build a robot costume A few days later I saw this on the library shelf Took it home and read it with my son and daughter who were both enthralled We are now making two robots My favorite part and there are many is how it gets you to think of creative uses for cardboard tubes boxes and the like I put a used paper towel roll on the table and we spent dinner discussing all of the functions it could serve on a robot It also has a subtle reminder to the parental assistant to step back and let the small human do the work even if you think you can make it neater In projects like this it’s about process not perfection
