Sked to help investigate they discover they discover kids feverishly playing arcade games in an effort to win enough tickets to redeem one of four stamps jets tanks submarines and racecarsRumour has it that the stamps are definitely worth it But what do they doThe kids soon discover that the. Brandon Mull is getting better and better The Arcade Catastrophe is packed full of good clean excitment and suspense The story was engaging the message was positive and the characters are strong honorable and braveIf you haven't read The Candy Shop War you absolutly need to read it first The Arcade Catastrophe references back to that first book several times and some key plot points are dependent on a knowledge of what's happened in the past This time Mazog and John Dart are missing and for those of you who are still uninitiated to the world of magical candy this is a VERY bad thing With the worlds most powerful magician and the worlds best magical law enforcer MIA there isn't much to keep magical bad guys from doing what they do best using kids to do their dirty work by giving them magical powers That's why is lucky for the safty of the whole planet that Nate Trevor Summer and Pigeon are once again up to the task of beating the bad guys and saving the day Mr Stott is back to help and we get to meet several new friends too including Lindy Mr Stott's adopted daughter who has a secret past that must be kept from her at all costsNot long after I got into the book I began to get nervous about an unresolved ending because of Harry Potter it's my personal mission to avoid reading any book series until all the books have been written thus avoiding the agonizing wait for a new book to resolve the conflict The first Candy Shop War was written as a stand alone story Brandon Mull wasn't planning on It received such good feedback though that he found story to tell and I was worried that his would become a series like Fablehaven where you don't learn the whole story until you've read all the books I needn't have worried everything is wrapped up with a nice neat bow at the end This time around though there is the briefest of set ups for the next story and I can handle thatI'm excited for my kids to read The Candy Shop War and I give my highest recommendation that your family join in on the fun

The Arcade Catastrophe byBrandon MullFantasy426 pagesThe Arcade Catastrophe is a great seuel to the book The Candy Shop War This book is about 5 friends Nate Trevor Summer Pigeon and there new friend Lindy who in the last book was an old evil magician who tried to find the fountain of youth to take control of the world she is a really powerful magicain but appartenly the magic works onlybetter when you are younger They are on another adventure to try to stop and save there friends Mozag and John Dart from Lindys brother who is yet another evil magicain but is looking for a much bigger prize then anyone could ever think of and a way bigger prize then what Lindy was trying to get Uweya is what it is called and it is a ball sized version of the earth execpt whoever has it can basically control the world So Nate and his friends are secertly going behind MrWhite Lindys brothers back But of course the blood runs in the family MrWhite also uses kids to get what he wants He builds an arcade and is giving a few selected kids powers as a prize and Nate and his friends are trying to figure out what has happened to Mozag and John while trying to fight the ever so powerful magican MrWhiteI rated this book a 5 because this book was really good and so was the first one I do think there is going to be a 3rd book because Lindy has 3 siblings and the book gave me a foreshadow kind of hintclue I think that this book has lots of details and that things get kind of confusing but mostly it clears up at the end and the author does a pretty good job at keeping the suspense and mystery till the end The good thing and what I like about this book is that it does not have a cliff hanger at the end I like all the suspense but I am a type of person who like can't stand when there is something that is not answered and stuff Thats why I hate series because I have to read all the books and I absolutly HATE it when I have another like year for the next book of the series or whatever to come out
